Commanders Preview

Washington comes into Sunday's game with a 6 - 2 record and sitting on top of the NFC East standings and are still giddy over their come-from-behind win on a Hail Mary pass to beat the Bears last week 18 - 15. Riding a two-game winning streak and winning 6 of their last 7 games, the Commanders look to continue their improbable season this week against the Giants.

Jayden Daniels has been playing like the odds on favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award this season. Daniels was 21 of 38 last week with 326 yards passing and a touchdown, no interceptions and two sacks. He's thrown 7 touchdowns this season overall and sits in 5th in QBR with a 72.6 rating.

The Commanders are 13th in overall defense giving up 326.4 yards per game and 20 touchdowns but are 25th in rushing defense (139.6 YPG) and 23rd in third-down defense (40.23%).

Washington is ranked 7th in the ESPN NFL Power Rankings for week 9.

Consensus:

Washington: Moneyline: -210 / Spread: -4 / Total: 44 -110

Giants Preview

New York enters today's game with a 2 - 6 record and sit four games back of the Commanders in the NFC East standings. Last week they fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers 26 - 18 on Monday night and didn't look too good doing it.

And while the Commanders are riding a high with Jayden Daniels, the Giants are beginning to have some doubts about their starting quarterback. Daniel Jones was 24 of 38 for 264 yards, one interception and four sacks last week and has thrown for 1706 yards on the season with only six touchdowns against five interceptions for a 44.6 QBR, good for 26th in the league.

Dynamic wideout Malik Nabers is everything a team could dream of in a receiver and has 46 receptions for 498 yards and three touchdowns on the season along with Darius Slayton who has 420 yards on 29 catches with one touchdown.

The Giants are 17th in overall defense with 331.1 yards per game and 18 touchdowns and their rushing defense isn't much better than the Commanders as they are 27th for 141.8 yards per game. The Giants do lead the league in sacks with 35 and are ranked 7th in third-down defense (32.29%).

New York is ranked 28th in the ESPN NFL Power Rankings for week 9.

Consensus:

New York: Moneyline: +175 / Spread: +4 / Total: 44 -110

How I use Models for Washington vs New York AI Player Props

There's a lot of hype and excitement surrounding the Commanders this season, especially with Jayden Daniels and the year he's having so far. And there is nothing to think this game should go any other way than a Commanders win. But I wanted to look at my Rithmm app to see if there was anything that jumped out at me, and if you've used the app before, the answer is - of course there is!

With an 80% hit rate over the last 5 games, Darius Slayton looks really good in this situation. While Jones hasn't been playing particularly well, he has been getting the ball to Slayton and Nabers often. Coupled with the Commanders third-down defense not being great and their rushing defense in the lower third of the league, you can see opportunities opening up for Slayton to easily get over 36.5 yards.

My Rithmm prop models have been successful so far this season and I feel this is a solid find. As always, do your own diligence and always bet responsibly.
