Aaron Rodgers has got to have been dreaming about this moment since the NFL schedule was announced for this season nearly 5 months ago.

On his first drive of the 2023 NFL season, as the Jets were taking on the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium on Monday Night Football, Rodgers was tackled and suffered a complete rupture of his Achilles tendon. He played a total of four snaps.

Rodgers would go on to tease returns several times across the 2023 season, but never returned to the field and the Jets dearly missed his presence in the huddle. Since then, Rodgers has been quiet but most people would tell you that he's absolutely locked in.

When he is healthy, he's an MVP candidate, and the Jets are a dangerous team with one of the best defenses. WR Garrett Wilson is a stud, and we are just scratching the surface of what RB Breece Hall can do for this team.

On the 49ers side of things, it's been an offseason dominated by contract talks. From Brock Purdy (who will most likely receive a record-setting contract after this season) to Brandon Aiyuk to Trent Williams, we spent plenty of time unsure of what this 49ers offense would look like. All is well though, as both Williams and Aiyuk signed and things should be great.

An unstoppable force meets an immovable object in the 49ers' offense against the Jets' defense. Both sides will be looking to take advantage of the other in this one. There's an interesting matchup in Deebo Samuel here, as he averaged 3.23 Yards per Route Run against two-high pass coverage shells. The Jets, who ran this coverage at a top-11 rate in 2023, could be struggling to contain him.

First of all, let's look over at Passing. It's all the way down in this one. I think we see the team that ultimately wins this game get some solid passing numbers, but make no mistake: this matchup will be won in the trenches.

I think both RB Christian McCaffrey and RB Breece Hall play large roles in this game. Both have generated extreme volume for their offenses before, and could definitely be the key in this matchup.

Both the Jets and the 49ers have extremely strong defenses as well, with both squads having great front seven units that can get pressure on the QB.

I will admit that I was on the Jets when the lines were initially released, as Trent Williams had not re-signed yet. However, that completely flips my opinion, so I'm happy I'm in line with my model here.

I think the 49ers are an imperfect perfect team. If you've not heard of this before, it's a concept that involves the notion of accepting and embracing who you are, flaws and all.

The 49ers are imperfectly perfect in the sense that on paper, they carry every variable needed to be a multiple championship-winning team, but they haven't so far because in the playoffs, they simply falter just a bit on the biggest stages. They fall victim to bad luck with injuries or just getting one yard short of the line to gain. It can be any number of things, but it has happened multiple time over the last several seasons.

However, this kind of thing has not happened in the regular season for them, and I think they get off to a strong start in this game once again. They have the advantage of a smoother offense with more weapons, and I wonder how Rodgers' mobility will look getting chased around by Nick Bosa and Fred Warner.
