British Open Round 4 Picks
Table of Contents
We are ready for a finale at Royal Troon tomorrow. After a carnage-filled Round 3 on Saturday, the dust has settled with Billy Horschel leading this field of 80 remaining players at the 2024 British Open by one shot, sitting at 4 under par.
In both of the past two rounds, the PM wave of players has gotten quite crushed by the weather, but on Saturday afternoon, players were holding on for dear life as the true defenses of the Scottish links reared their heads. Wind and rain battered the late wave and players like Shane Lowry and Daniel Brown got crushed to the point where they are both out of the final group.
Following every round, we’ll be going through my favorite AI golf picks for the following round, as well as the Rithmm-backed AI Caddie hole score picks I’m rolling with. Let’s get into Round 4!

British Open Round 4 AI Caddie Pick
Scottie Scheffler to Birdie or Better Hole 3 (+235)
When things work out, they work out, and betting on players to birdie Hole 3 at Royal Troon this week has certainly worked out.
Scottie Scheffler is a player who's style of golf is perfect for a course like this. Never mind his immense skill off the tee and on approach, but his ability to take the ball low and work it through shifting winds will always take him far on Royal Troon.
We saw this on display in Round 3, as Scheffler continually put himself in position to make solid scores hole after hole. His putter failed him majorly, but he has that ability to rebound like no one else, and Round 4 starting with him two shots back will give him the opportunity to push hard.
Hole 3 should be interesting on Sunday. After playing as the seventh-hardest hole in Round 2, things switched around and 3 played as the second-easiest hole, yielding a birdie to 28% of the field, including Scheffler.
Scottie has birdied this hole in two of the three rounds, and with a 40% chance according to Rithmm's AI Caddie model, he has a good chance to make that 3 out of 4.

Finishing Position: Russell Henley Top 5 Finish (+105)
I'm in a good position right now with Daniel Brown to finish in the top 10, as despite a brutal finishing stretch where he dropped three shots over his final two holes on Saturday, he still sits T2 at -3.
Let's target another golfer who is playing some stellar golf in Henley, who fired a 5-under 66 in Round 3 to jump into that logjam at three under par. Currently, the weather forecast for Sunday calls for much more benign weather for the final day. It will be windy and gusty throughout the day, but there will be little to no rain most likely and the wind should die down as the round progresses.
Conditions like these will benefit Henley, who ranks as the 17th lowest apex ball height in this field. This will be absolutely crucial, and Henley showed his proficiency here by battling winds early on Saturday to fire his 66.
Henley will be in the penultimate group with Sam Burns, but I expect him to be comfortable while he fights for his first major. He ranks 26th on the PGA Tour this season in Round 4 Scoring Average with an average of 69, and he has been playing very well this week, gaining strokes in every single major category.
Taking Henley Top 5 at plus-money is easy, and I would even go as far as saying you can swing on him at +900 to win his first major championship.
