Miami enters this game 1 - 3 on the season and coming off of a poor performance against the Tennessee Titans on Monday night where they lost 31 - 12. That's the Dolphins third loss in a row as they've struggled to find any sort of offensive cohesiveness since the injury to starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Head coach Mike McDaniel has decided to continue with Tyler Huntley, who cobbled together a sluggish 96 yards passing with 14 completions on 22 attempts and no touchdowns last week against the Titans. The only good news is he also didn’t throw any interceptions. Huntley also rushed for 40 yards on eight carries and  for their lone touchdown last week.

The chemistry has definitely been off in Tua's absence and was exemplified by the frustrations of speedster Tyreek Hill who had 4 catches on 7 targets for 23 yards and no touchdowns while also running three times for 19 yards against the Titans.

Defensively, the Dolphins fare a little better ranking 6th in the league in total defense giving up 282 yards per game, 5th in passing defense with 162.5 yards per game and 16th in rushing defense allowing 119.5 yards per game while allowing 25.8 points per game.

Patriots Preview

New England enters this game also with a 1 - 3 record on the season and also having lost their last three games. Last week, the Patriots lost in San Francisco 30 - 13 but the biggest blow may have been the injury to team captain David Andrews who is expected to receive season ending shoulder surgery.

Patriots head coach Jarod Mayo took responsibility for the team's recent woes saying "We have to fix all the bad football, and that's my job." while then choosing to stick with nine-year veteran Jacoby Brissett over the number three draft pick, Drake Maye.

Brissett has thrown for 536 yards this season, completing 61 of 101 passes (60.4%) with two touchdowns and an interception. Last week against the 49ers Brissett went 19 of 32 for 168 yards with one touchdown and one interception while being sacked six times.

Defensively, the Patriots are 24th in total defense allowing 353.3 yards per game, 28th in passing defense with 254 yards per game and a much better 9th in rushing defense allowing 99.3 yards per game. And they will need to lean into that front line and pressure Huntley into making mistakes.
