Lynx and Dream square off on the last day before the league breaks for the All-Star game. This will be the third time the Lynx and Dream face off. The Lynx have taken both matchups by the scores of 92-79 and 68-55. Both squads are on losing streaks, who will end the first half on a high note?

Atlanta Dream is riding a seven-game losing streak. It has been a tough run in the ATL. The Dream has been without two key contributors for long stretches this year. Jordin Canada and Rhyne Howard have both struggled with injuries.

The good news is Howard, the 3x3 Olympian, will return after being out for two weeks. Her 15 ppg will be more than welcome.  

When I heard that Howard was returning I started singing Luda’s Georgia in my head. This is a huge factor in my AI sports pick.

Tina Charles has had to step up for Atlanta. Charles is an ageless wonder that continues to dominate on the court.

Charles, the number one pick in 2010, list of career accomplishments includes:  

• Third in all-time scoring at 7,429
• Second in all-time rebounds with 3,833 rebounds
• 2012 WNBA MVP
• 9x All-WNBA selection
• 8x WNBA All-Strat selection

Without Charles, this Dream team would be in serious trouble.  

Lynx Preview

Minnesota welcomes Atlanta to the Target Center. The Lynx were a great early-season story, taking the Commissioner’s Cup.  

Since their cup victory, it has been rocky for the Lynx. Only picking up three wins in their last eight games was not what Coach Cheryl Reeve was expecting.

Coach Reeve, also the US Women’s Olympian head coach, does not need to look far for her team's struggles.

Naphessa Collier, the Commissioner’s Cup MVP and Olympian has missed Minnesota’s last four games with a foot injury. Collier leads the Lynx in the following categories:

• Points: 20 PPG
• Rebounds: 10 RPG
• Steals: 2.2 SPG

Collier was listed as questionable on Tuesday’s injury report. But I doubt with this being the last game before the Olympics that she suits up.

Minnesota also sits comfortably in the fifth spot in the WNBA standings with a three-and-a-half-game lead over Phoenix.

Collier’s absence plays a huge role in my AI betting prediction.

• MN 5-5 straight-up L10
• MN 4-6 ATS L10
• MN 2-7-1 to the over L10
• MN 2-5 ATS in their L7 home games
• MN 2-6 ATS against a team with a losing record
• MN is scoring 82 points a game L5
• MN is allowing 71 points a game L5

Let's look at the board, currently, Minnesota is favored by 7.5 points and the total is set at 153.

153 seems too low but I’m not messing with a total on an afternoon game in the middle of the week.

Instead, I’m leaning toward Atlanta +7.5. They have been covering games and with Howard back, I think they will want to end the first half with a win.
