St. Jude Championship Round 2 AI Caddie Pick
Xander Schauffele to Birdie or Better Hole 3 (+120)
Over the past 12 months, Xander Schauffele ranks third and sixth in this field in Par 5 Scoring and Par 5 Birdie or Better %.
Knowing that, and seeing that Rithmm is giving him a 62% chance to score birdie or better on a hole that he birdied with relative ease in round one, has me wanting to slam this prop, especially at +120 odds. Schauffele has been one of the most reliable golfers this season on the PGA Tour in scoring on holes he needs to.
Only two holes played easier than the third hole in Round 1, and an accessible pin location in the front left for Round 2 should make things easy for Schauffele.
St. Jude Championship Round 2 Best Bet
Matchup: Robert MacIntyre > Sepp Straka (+110)
Let's go back to the hero of the summer: MacIntyre, who has been a bit up and down but still has the two victories this season at the RBC Canadian and his national tournament, the Genesis Scottish Open.
MacIntyre was horrid off the tee in Round 1, only hitting 35% of his fairways. However, he has gained strokes on the field in driving accuracy in four of his last seven events, and while it isn't necessarily his strong suit, should be able to work his fade into play. Bobby Mac was also better than Straka in nearly every statistical category, only losing strokes putting and OTT and finished -3 in spite of putting himself in bad spots.
Straka doesn't possess that same craftiness that the Scotsman often shows, though, and due to missing 56% of the greens, shot a +1. His a lack of a strong short game on a course like TPC Southwind could definitely cost him.
Lastly, MacIntyre sports a Round 2 Scoring Average of 69.76, which ranks 40th this season, while Straka's is 70.8, ranked 134th. It's not everything, but some guys just don't play well on certain days.
