Florida State and Georgia Tech travel across the pond to Dublin, Ireland to kick off week zero. Learn how I use AI Sports Betting to make my prediction.
Preview of FSU vs GT AI Predictions
The tenth-ranked Seminoles travel to Dublin, Ireland for a clash with the Yellow Jackets. FSU holds a 15-11-1 series edge against Georgia Tech. Will the trend continue or will Tech score the upset?
Florida State University
Florida State is coming off a 13-1 campaign that saw them get snubbed by the College Football Playoff due to losing their starting quarterback, Jordan Travis, to injury.
FSU had a stellar defense last year, only giving up 19.3 points a game. They still should be a solid unit but did lose 10 defensive players to the NFL and only return five starters. This is a factor in my AI College Football Prediction.
Travis also left for the NFL but Head Coach Mike Norvell brought in DJ Uiagalelei, aka DJ U, via the transfer portal. The fifth-year senior QB spent his first three years in the ACC with Clemson. DJ U is 2-0 lifetime against the Yellow Jackets.
Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech opens up the season on a neutral site for the third year in a row. This will be their second trip to Dublin in the last eight years.
Coach Brent Key is in his third year as the head coach at his alma mater, where he played right guard from 97-2000.
Last year GT finished 7-3 with a 5-3 ACC record. They return 13 starters from last year's squad highlighted by QB Haynes King. This is a factor in my AI sports wagering prediction.
The Yellow Jacket defense is in a rebuild, finishing 85th or worse the last five years in total defense. Coach Key hired away defensive coordinator Tyler Santucci from Duke.
How I use Rithmm models for my FSU vs GT AI Prediction
Rithmm’s AI models are only a piece of my handicap. I like to do my research and look at the matchups/trends.
Factors that go into my handicap:
- FSU is 15-11-1 straight up versus GT
- GT has covered the spread in five of the last six between these schools
- FSU scored 34.6 points a game last year and brought in an upgrade at QB
- FSU allowed 19.3 points a game last year but lost ten defensive players to the NFL
- GT scored 31.1 points a game last year with QB King is back
- GT allowed 29.5 points a game, new defense is being installed with new DC
- GT was 6-7 ATS last year
- GT was 5-8 to the over last year
- FSU was 8-6 ATS last year
- FSU was 8-6 to the over last year
Week zero matchups can be tricky, especially in this era of college football with the transfer portal.
But I do know, Tech has a knack for playing FSU tight but with such a poor defense I can’t trust the Yellow Jackets.
DJ U starting at FSU combined with King starting at Georgia Tech plus changes on the defensive side of the ball for both teams, I expect points.
The total opened up as low as 51.5 and was bet up to 56.5 but hit some resistance and now sits at 55.5 in most places.
Let's see what my Rithmm models have to say.

As you can see my model has this game total landing at 56 points! It will be a sweaty one but it will go over with both offenses being piloted by experienced QBs and both defenses going through changes.
