Kansas State vs Colorado: AI Predictions - College Football
Table of Contents
Week 7 of the NCAAF season is upon us and so is a number of high-profile matchups between great teams. One of the highest profile games features the 18th ranked Kansas State Wildcats and the star-studded Colorado Buffaloes.
Preview of my Kansas State vs. Colorado Prediction
Each team enters the match up 4-1 and with eyes on a playoff spot. The Buffaloes play host to the Wildcats tonight, Saturday, at 10:15 PM EST on ESPN.
Kansas State Wildcats Preview
The Kansas State Wildcats have had an impressive season so far. They stand at 4-1 and in contention for the Big 12 title. They have won their four games by an average of 22 points and they average 31.4 points per game.
The offense has been strong and ranks 43rd in all of college football with 432.4 yards per game. They are a ground and pound team and that’s how they like to win. They average 252.2 yards per game rushing on 6.9 yards per attempt. In comparison, they average 180.2 yards in the air also at a rate of 6.9 per attempt. They are the seventh best team in the nation on the ground.
The Wildcats are 2-3 in their last five games against the spread.
Colorado Buffoloes Preview
Despite not being ranked, the Colorado Buffaloes are probably the most followed and high-profile team in the country. They feature coach NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, and top future NFL players, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way player, Travis Hunter.
Hunter, who plays cornerback and wide receiver, has 46 receptions for 561 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. He also has 3 pass deflections and 2 interceptions on defense. He has played 93 percent of plays from scrimmage on the year.
As a team, they average 31 points per game on 406.6 yards per game. That would have them ranked 61st in the nation for total team offense. As the Wildcats are a running team, the Buffoloes are the opposite. They average 326 yards per game in the air and just 80 yards rushing per game. They have won by an average margin of 14.5.
Colorado is 3-2 in their last five games against the spread including three straight wins.
How I Use Rithmm Models for Miami vs California AI Prediction
The spread and over/under for this game is Kansas State -3.5 and 55.5.
This is a big test for the Kansas State Wildcats, going into Colorados home stadium and looking to walk away from that star-studded team with a win. But if there was ever a way to do so, a strong rushing attack is the way to go about it. And there aren’t many better rushing teams than the Wildcats. I am leaning towards taking Kansas State giving the points.
With my initial thoughts and research done, let’s turn to the Rithmm app and see if the models that have been created confirm my theories for my NCAAF AI Predictions.
Let's take a look at the Rithmm AI custom betting models that I personally created with the Rithmm app.
The first customized model that I created, “Offense/Passing”, is a model that greatly emphasizes an offensive minded team, weighing the offense, passing, and Rithmm’s rank system heavily. This model has the Kansas State -5 which is a 2.5 point edge on the given spread. This is a surprising result as Colorado’s passing offense is prolific.
The next model I created for the NCAAF season is the “Defense/Running” model that puts heavy emphasis on all defensive categories, running the ball, and Rithmm’s rank system. This model has the Colorado +4.1. This model has California missing out on 0.6 points against the spread and giving the edge to Kansas State.
Lastly, the “Rithmm AI” model that was created for me by the Rithmm app and evenly weighs all of the available categories. With offense, defense, passing, running, and the Rithmm ranks all relatively aligned, the model has Colorado +3.3. This model slightly favors Colorado against the given spread.
My Kansas State vs Colorado AI Prediction
Having done my own research and with two of the three models showcasing edges towards Kansas State, I am inclined to stick with my initial thoughts. I think Kansas State will be able to run the ball efficiently and keep Colorado’s stars off the field. There will be fewer opportunities for Colorado to score and I think Kansas State will take care of business. All of that being said, I’m taking the Kansas State Wildcats -3.5 in the Kansas State vs Colorado match up.
