Preview and Analysis for New York Knicks vs Charlotte Hornets AI Prediction

Let's preview these two teams before I show you how I used the Rithmm App to create custom sports betting models to get my AI prediction.

Knicks Preview

New York is 10 - 8 on the season and currently sit in 4th place in the Eastern Conference 2.0 games behind the Orlando Magic and 6.5 games behind the leading Cleveland Cavaliers. The Knicks are coming off of a loss on Wednesday to the Dallas Mavericks 129 - 114 and have lost two of their last three games.

The Knicks have a solid offense led by Karl-Anthony Townes who is averaging 26.2 points per game with 12.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists and All-Star Jalen Brunson who has 25.6 points and 7.9 assists per game. Brunson has done his part putting in 37 points against the Mavs and has scored 30 or more in two of his last four games.

While the Knicks wait out the debut of big man Mitchell Robinson who still hasn't been cleared for basketball activities and Precious Achiuwa who is still nursing a hamstring injury. Without them the big five have had to play 35 minutes or more per game over the past two weeks.

The Knicks are ranked 10th in the ESPN NBA Power Index for 2024 - 2025.

Hornets Preview

Charlotte is a team in need of a MASH unit, losing Grant Williams for the season to an ACL injury, Miles Bridges is out indefinitely with a knee injury and now point guard LaMelo Ball has been ruled out today with a calf injury. None of this bodes well for the Hornets today as they were already one of the worst defenses in the league.

With Ball out, the slack will fall to forward Brandon Miller who is averaging 19.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Miller has scored 20 or more points in five straight games including a 32 point, 11 rebound game against the Bucks last week.

The Hornets are ranked 10th in the ESPN NBA Power Index for 2024 - 2025.

Models for my Knicks vs Hornets AI Prediction

There's not much to say about this game other than it's an early game and will be there to kick off a full day of sports watching and left-over turkey eating.

The Knicks are prohibitive favorites to win this game, there's really little doubt about it. But as you can see above, the Hornets are favored to cover this based on my Rithmm models. And it's all three models saying this (even crazier, all three of my models like the Hornet to win outright, but I personally think those models have a hangover from too much Miller Light yesterday).

The bet split for this game sits at 83% for the Knicks to cover the -12.5, but these models have been pretty solid for me and I'm going to buy into the hype.
