Preview and Analysis for Nuggets vs Cavaliers AI Prediction
Let's preview these two teams before I show you how I used the Rithmm App to create custom sports betting models to get my AI prediction.
Nuggets Preview
Denver is 11 - 8 on the season and are in 8th place in the Western Conference four-games back of the conference leading OKC Thunder. The Nuggets played two nights ago in a win against the Golden State Warriors 119 - 115 and are looking to break the cycle of win, lose, win, lose and put together a consistent winning streak.
The Nuggets continue to lean on perennial All-Star Nikola Jokic who is currently averaging a triple double for the season with 30.1 points, 13 rebounds and 10.1 assists per game with the next closest average points scorer being Michael Porter Jr who has 18.7 points per game.
Forward Aaron Gordon returned two nights ago from a calf injury and was able to put in 15 points with nine rebounds and five assists in 33 minutes against the Warriors. Denver will need to capitalize on Gordon's return by moving the ball around the floor and take advantage of their 39.3% three-point shooting, which is fourth best in the league, and try to put the score out of reach early.
Cavaliers Preview
Cleveland is a league-best 19 - 3 this season and currently lead the Eastern Conference by a half game over the Boston Celtics. The Cavs have a two-game winning streak under the belts as they just stomped the Wizards on Tuesday 118 - 87.
The Cavaliers are led by Donovan Mitchell who has averaged 24.3 points per game with 4.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists while Darius Garland is averaging 20.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game this season. Garland and Mitchell will need to lean into Denver's erratic play of late, spend some time with the extra pass and find a way to shoot over the Nuggets defense.
The Cavs lead the league in points per game, three-point percentage and field goal percentage but defensively will need to minimize their fouls, the Nuggets lead the league in free throw attempts this season, and be careful overcommitting, allowing Jokic the perimeter.
While still early in the season, Cleveland can use this as a statement game to bolster their credentials as they continue this amazing run.
Models for my Nuggets vs Cavaliers AI Prediction
This should be a fun game and it's setting up to be a close one. While the Cavs are currently laying -4 for the game, this has a chance to be a very close game that comes down to the wire.
As that line scares me a bit, and my Rithmm models had zero agreement, I jumped over to the totals page and there was the agreement I was looking for. All three models loved this under in spite of the bet split being 69% to the over (DK).
Both teams can be offensive juggernauts and have the ability to drive up the score, and that may happen tonight as well, but both teams also played last season and the totals closed at 230 and 231 - these are effectively the same teams and have the ability to slow the pace and put pressure on shooters.
With that, I'll be taking the under 234.5.
