Previews and Analysis for Oklahoma vs Michigan AI Prediction
Let's preview these two teams before I show you how I used the Rithmm App to create custom sports betting models to get my AI prediction.
Oklahoma Preview
The Sooners will bring their unbeaten 10 - 0 record into Charlotte tonight in a non-conference matchup to see if they can keep pace with unbeaten Florida and Tennessee in the SEC Conference. Oklahoma last played four days ago in a win against in-state rival Oklahoma State 80 - 65.
Sam Goodwin had a career night putting in 20 points and pulling down 14 rebounds as Oklahoma made 49% of their shots from the field. Jeremiah Fears added 17 points with three rebounds and five assists and Kobe Elvis had 15 points and two assists as the Sooners skated to an easy win over the Cowboys.
Oklahoma is averaging 81.5 points and 33.8 rebounds per game and are only giving up 65.9 points on the defensive end ranking 61st in the nation.
Oklahoma is ranked 38th in the ESPN Men's College Power Index 2024-25.
Michigan Preview
The Wolverines come into tonight's game with an 8-2 overall record and sit in 3rd place in the Big Ten behind UCLA and Michigan State. Michigan took a loss in their last outing eight days ago against Arkansas 89 - 87 in the Jimmy V Classic in New York.
Michigan gave up a 15-point lead just in the first half and then went down by as many as 18 points mid-way through the 2nd half before going on a 16 - 2 run, even taking a brief lead late with 1:27 left in the game, but couldn't score again in the half and took the loss.
Center Vladislav Goldin had 17 points and nine rebounds with two blocks and Danny Wolf added 14 points and nine rebounds to help keep Michigan close in the loss.
In spite of shooting at a 57.6% clip against Arkansas the Wolverines gave up a big lead and then had to claw their way back only to find themselves once again cold in the final minutes.
Michigan is ranked 31st in the ESPN Men's College Power Index 2024-25.
Models for my Oklahoma vs Michigan AI Prediction
This is an interesting game for several reasons. It's a neutral site game for both teams and it's part of the two-day Jumpman Invitational tournament that includes teams that signed up for Jordan Brand for both basketball and football.
As you can see above, my Rithmm models really like Oklahoma to cover the +3.5 spread by a tune of 57.7% win probability. I tend to like my models above 60% for agreement but this model has gone 32 - 25 this season and I'm running at a 56% win rate with it.
I think Oklahoma is the better team here and while they haven't been challenged quite as much as Michigan has this season, just the fact that Michigan struggled so hard against Arkansas gives me pause.
This line has moved to Michigan laying -4 at some places with a 69% bet split to the Wolverines to cover, so +4 or more a great place to try to grab this. KenPom has this a 3 point game for Michigan so this lines up nicely to catch a win.
I'll be taking Oklahoma +4 tonight.
