Olympics Golf 2024: Round 2 Best Bets & AI Caddie Pick
Table of Contents
It's the Olympics! 60 of the best golfers from around the world are in Paris, France at Le Golf National to represent their home countries and hopefully bring home a coveted Olympic medal.
After 18 holes, Japan's Hideki Matsuyama leads by two shots after firing an eight-under 63 in the morning wave. Defending gold medalist Xander Schauffele sits two shots back with stars lie Joaquin Niemann and Tom Kim also in the mix.
Following every round, we’ll be going through my favorite AI golf picks for the following round, as well as the Rithmm-backed AI Caddie hole score picks I’m rolling with. Let’s get into Round 2!

Olympics Golf Round 2 AI Caddie Pick
Ludvig Aberg to Birdie or Better Hole 3 (-200)
I am very rarely going to recommend an AI Caddie bet at negative odds, but I'm making an exception here for Aberg.
The third hole at Le Golf National played as the easiest hole by far in Round 1 on Thursday, playing 0.7 shots UNDER par. That's the most I've seen a hole play under par in a while. It yielded a birdie to nearly 60% of the field and even gave up seven eagles.
The Swede was one of the 35 golfers who birdied the hole this morning, and he did it with ease, getting on the surface in two shots and putting his 35 foot eagle putt to within a foot, guaranteeing himself a sweat-free birdie.
With Le Golf National playing more than a full shot under par, I expect Round 2 to be more of the same when it comes to this hole, with Aberg most likely having little to no trouble getting in good position again.
Olympics Golf Round 2 Best Bet
Matchup: Sepp Straka > Alex Noren (+100)
Coming into this week, Noren had plenty of hype after he won the French Open at Le Golf National back in 2018. He's having arguably the best season of his career and got off to a nice -4 start in Round 1.
However, Straka also got off to that same -4 start and had a much better day statistic-wise. Noren relied on an extremely hot putter, gaining 1.47 strokes on the greens while losing strokes on approach. Straka, on the other hand, crushed it, gaining 2.72 strokes on approach, 3.5 strokes ballstriking, and 4.39 strokes tee-to-green. He lost strokes putting, but he's an average-above average putter and can change that.
Both Straka and Noren rank outside of the top 120 in Round 2 scoring average, so neither has an advantage when it comes to seeing who is better on that front. I think Straka has a shot to win this tournament though and will make a strong move in Round 2.
