Olympics Golf Round 3 AI Caddie Pick
Rory McIlroy to Bogey or Worse Hole 2 (+390)
Rory McIlroy bogeying a Par 3? Doesn't happen very often, that's for sure.
However, Rory can get himself into trouble with the best of them, and that's what he did in Round 1 of the OIympics, bogeying the second hole after missing the green short. He wasn't immune in Round 2 either, as he missed the green long and had to stick a 70 foot chip insid of five feet to give himself a solid look at par, which he made.
Point being, this is a long, tough Par 3 that has played as one of the course's five toughest holes in both rounds so far, and I could see McIlroy making a mistake here in Round 3.
Our Rithmm AI Caddie gives him a 31% chance of making bogey or worse on this hole against a field average of 25%, and when you consider that +390 is nearly a 20% chance it leaves a healthy margin for us for making a solid guess here.
Olympics Golf Round 3 Best Bet
Matchup: Tom Kim > Hideki Matsuyama (-120)
We're coming off a tough push to our Round 2 bet, since Sepp Straka flew his approach on 18 into the water and made double bogey to erase a two-shot lead he had over Alex Noren heading into that hole, but we shall push on!
Both Kim and Matsuyama have played great golf to this point so far, with Hideki tied for the lead and Kim only a few shots behind him at -8. I do think Moving Day will shift in favor of the young Korean though. Kim holds a slim edge in Round 3 Scoring Average, with a 70.08 average that sits him 92nd this season, while Matsuyama's is further back at 70.67, 132nd.
Also in Kim's favor, he has hit his irons better this week so far. He edges out Hideki both in Approach and Ballstriking, and if Hideki wasn't gaining a tournament-leading 2.59 strokes putting, who knows if he would be at the top? That may not continue over the weekend.
