Toronto is riding a three-game losing streak and is currently sitting in 14th place in the Eastern Conference with a 7 - 18 record. The Raptors played three nights ago when they lost to the Knicks 113 - 108 in New York.

The Raptors lost Scottie Barnes to an ankle sprain midway through the 3rd quarter and had to lean on RJ Barrett who put in 30 points with eight rebounds and four assists while rookie guard Ja'Kobe Walter added 19 points and two assists in the losing effort.

Toronto is ranked 30th in the ESPN NBA Power Index for 2024.

Heat Preview

Conversely, the Miami Heat are riding a three-game winning streak and currently sit in 5th place in the Eastern Conference with a 12 - 10 record and are 1.5 games back of the New York Knicks.

Miami is coming off of a win against the red hot Cleveland Cavaliers 122 - 113 and have won their last three games against teams that have winning records in the Suns, Lakers and Cavs.

The Heat have a trio of stars putting up points led by Tyler Herro who is averaging 24.2 points per game with 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists, Jimmy Butler who has 19.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists and Bam Adebayo with his 16 points, 10.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.

Miami is ranked 13th in the ESPN NBA Power Index for 2024.

Models for my Raptors vs Heat AI Prediction

The Heat are averaging 112.2 points per night and should have no problem winning this game outright, but the Raptors also average 112.3 points per game and have already played 11 games this season without Barnes.

This game opened at -11 and the current line has the Heat laying -10 to the Raptors yet the bet splits are in favor of Toronto with 54% of the money on them to cover.

My Rithmm model has a 54.7% win probability and has shown some success with games that set up this way. I like that even without Barnes the Raptors score points and most of my metrics outside of Rithmm are saying the same thing.
