After another challenging day, play has wrapped on Round 2 of the 2024 RBC Canadian Open at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. Ryan Fox and Robert MacIntyre share the lead at 10 under par, with Joel Dahmen sitting two shots back at -8. Sam Burns and Sean O'Hair both fell back to -6 after off days resulted in one-over 71s for them.

RBC Canadian Open Round 3 AI Caddie Picks
Taylor Pendrith to Bogey or Worse Hole 6 (+260)
As much as nobody likes seeing negative bets on their feed, that's how we're starting this piece. Pendrith played some inspired golf, but danger lurks around every hole at Hamilton, and almost none as much as the Par 3 sixth hole, which has been playing around 250 yards thus far this week and ranked as the third hardest hole in Round 2 after playing as the hardest hole in Round 1, per DataGolf.
Taking a look at Rithmm's AI Caddie tool, Pendrith has a 29% chance to bogey this hole or worse, compared to 24% for the rest of the field, and has already bogeyed it in Round 1. Round 3's pin placement is going to be tough with the pin only four paces off the far left side of the green, where players will have to cover a bunker and not have a ton of green space to land their ball if they want to attack this pin.
Pendrith could play this one safe, but at -2 and eight shots back, he might decide to play aggressive and that could get him in trouble on this hole.

Matchup Play: Robert MacIntyre > Ryan Fox (-115)
Why not take a swing in the final pairing tomorrow?
First off, let's look at the tale of the tape so far this week. Both of the co-leaders are having a fantastic week putting, with each ranking in the top ten in Strokes Gained: Putting. MacIntyre has gained about a stroke more on the greens. That's where the similarities stop, though.
Fox is having one of his best ballstriking week of the season, not to mention he's been fairly accurate off the tee, a category which he has been downright dismal in this year. Can the good tee ball game continue for him? That'll be a massive key, as will performing in the final pairing, which is not something he has a ton of experience with on the PGA Tour.
The reason I'm choosing MacIntyre here is simple. He's been in this spot before and performed well under the circumstances, and his scrambling has been absolutely top notch. I would be looking to target some of MacIntyre's Birdie or Better props as well, as the Rithmm AI Caddie model rates him favorably on several holes.
It was clear during Round 2 that he was not having his best round, and he still went out and fired his second consecutive bogey-free round of the tournament. Fox's ballstriking has been very solid, but I'm simply not sure that a man who ranks a paltry 173rd in Round 3 Scoring Average can hold it all together.
