Saints vs Broncos: NFL Predictions - TNF

Last week on Thursday Night Football, the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Seattle Seahawks in their first of two divisional matchups.

This week, Spencer Rattler and the New Orleans Saints host Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos in a matchup of two rookie quarterbacks.

Saints vs Broncos TNF Preview

This game has looked sort of unappealing for weeks, as QB Bo Nix has looked less than stellar for the Broncos in his first NFL season. After starting 2-0 the Saints similarly started to look sluggish, but things have really fallen apart, with QB Derek Carr and WRs Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed out for this game now.

Rattler has stepped in for Carr and so far, he really hasn't looked terrible. He threw two interceptions against the Buccaneers last week, but one came late with Rattler looking to play hero and otherwise, he had a decent first outing.

This will be a massive test for him against a strong pass defense, albeit one missing their top player in Pat Surtain II. Regardless, he will be without two of his best weapons and possibly without a third in Taysom Hill.

Speaking of the Broncos, they seem to be struggling just as soon as they looked like they might get things going. It will be interesting to se how they hold up against a Saints offense that has shown the ability to score points but not really the ability to stop other teams in recent weeks.

This could bea really ugly game. On one side, you have Nix, who has underperformed in nearly every game this season. The running game has struggled a ton here, so can we depend on it to get going in this one?

On the other, Rattler will be without three of his top weapons. His top three wide receivers are rookie Day 3 pick Bub Means, career journeyman Cedrick Wilson, and Mason Tipton, who I had never heard of two weeks ago. Alvin Kamara has been extremely inefficient lately. Despite the fact this game is in a dome, I can't see either of these two teams airing it out accurately.

All of this leads to a very unappealing football game. I'll be taking the under alongside my Rithmm model.
