This week, yet another divisional matchup tolls, this week between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers in Seattle.

These are two teams in surprisingly opposite spots right now. The 49ers, NFC champs in 2023, have now lost three straight games, and despite getting their pass-catching corps back to full health, cannot seem to get out of their own way late in games, which has now cost them two wins against the Rams and now the Cardinals.

The Seahawks, on the other hand, despite losing to the Giants last week, have looked terrific for the majority of the season and are running an offense that has them firing on all cylinders.

That offense is going to have to be on its A-game Thursday night, as the 49ers have dominated this matchup in recent seasons and have the model down pat: run the ball heavily and then batter the Seahawks in the middle of the field.

This is the perfect get-right spot for the 49ers. Against a divisional opponent that they have owned in recent years, this is the time for Brock Purdy at the 49ers to get back in control of their season.

With their full complement of passing weapons back healthy, I think the 49ers can take advantage of a potentially absent or limited CB Riq Woolen and simultaneously punish the Seahawks with RB Jordan Mason on the ground. They need to get WR Deebo Samuel involved too, as he had seven catches in both matchups last season and can do damage to the zone-heavy scheme Seattle will run.
