Two of those teams, who have plenty of postseason success, kick of their run on Saturday afternoon. Division and bitter rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Baltimore to take on the Baltimore Ravens in, what is expected to be, a hard hitting, high intensity match up. Both teams come in with high expectations and look to end the season of their division foe. Let’s take a look at the Steelers vs Ravens AI Predictions for what the models say are the best bets of this Wild-Card match up. 

Pittsburgh Steelers Preview

The Pittsburg Steelers sat at 10-3, atop of the AFC North standings and looking like one of the best teams in the league. They proceeded to lose their next four games with the offense not performing and the defense struggling to carry the team. Ending the season with a winning record and a playoff berth is always a positive though. And kicking off the 2025 playoff run against arch-rival, the Baltimore Ravens, is a match up I am sure they are happy to see. 

The Steelers are a team that will try to play smash mouth football. They have Najee Harris who ended the season with 263 carries and 1,043 yards. Their change of pace back, Jaylen Warren, is also a force to be reckoned with. He ended the year with 511 yards on 120 carries. 

Russell Wilson, who was once a preeminent quarterback in this league, has struggled as of late. After starting the season injured, he has come in and played 11 games, accumulating 2,482 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. However, over the four game losing streak, Wilson hasn’t surpassed a QB rating of 95 and a QBR of 42. 

The defense is where the Steelers shine. On the year, they rank second in opponent third down conversion, sixth in total rushing yards allowed per game, and eighth in points per game allowed. With superstar T.J. Watt, they are able to make game changing plays that turn the game around. 

Baltimore Raiders Preview

The Ravens have been a top team all season and they came into this year with Super Bowl or bust aspirations. Ending the year with a 12-5 record, an AFC North title, and a strong MVP candidate could be seen as a successful season no matter the playoff outcome. 

Lamar Jackson is making it a habit of being in the MVP discussions every year. This season, he ended with 4,172 passing yards, 41 touchdowns thrown to just four interceptions, added 915 yards rushing and another four touchdowns. It has been magical watching him dance around the field and guide the ravens to wins. 

But Jackson isn’t the only star on his team. First year Raven, Derrick Henry, has had an outstanding year. He finished the season with 1,921 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. He ranks just behind Saquon Barkley in yards and is tied first in touchdowns. 

As a team, the Ravens ended the year as the number one ranked DVOA team with a strong offense and a stout defense.

The spread and over/under on this game is Ravens -9.5 and 43.5. It’s a tough line to analyze a game like this. These are two teams that historically play incredibly tight games despite one team coming into this matchup playing much better football. Add the variable that this is a playoff game and will be played outside in cold weather. Let’s dive in and see what the AI models say. My initial inclination is to focus on the over/under number and the Steelers getting the points.

This model has the Steelers +3.8, giving a huge edge of 5.7 points on the given spread. This was also a recommended bet according to the Rithmm app. 

Lastly, the “Well Rounded” model that I customized evenly weighs all of the available categories. With offense, defense, passing, running, and the Rithmm ranks all relatively aligned, the model has almost the given spread exactly. This model has Steelers +9.3, so just a slight edge towards the Steelers. 

My Steelers vs Ravens AI Prediction

With my own research and with the models showcasing pretty significant edges towards the Steelers, I am leaning towards taking the points on the spread. I think the Steelers will try to keep the ball on the ground to bleed clock and lean on their defense to keep it close. While the Ravens are the better team and could very well win the game, the 9.5 points is too high to pass up.
