Preview of Texas vs Michigan AI Predictions
For the second time in both these team’s long history, they will go to battle on the gridiron. Texas won the first matchup in the 2005 Rose Bowl 38-37. Will one of the newest members of the SEC make it two in a row or will the defending champs come out victorious?
Texas
The Longhorns enter their first season in the SEC. A win at Michigan would give them a great confidence boost as they prepare for the grueling schedule they have in front of them in Austin.
Coach Sarkisian, aka Coach Sark, silenced much of his critics last year with a win against Alabama. He looks to make it two years in a row with an early season signature win. This is a factor in my AI College Football Prediction.
Coach Sark has supreme confidence in his starting quarterback Quin Ewers. Ewers was solid in week one against Colorado State throwing for 260 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
Ewers was pulled in the third quarter with Texas leading 38-0. The Longhorns would go on to win 52-0.
Michigan
The Wolverines finally reached the mountain top last year by winning the College Football National Championship. But that was last year.
Coach Jim Harbaugh decided to move onto the NFL leaving Michigan in a sticky situation with COVID and scouting violations.
Michigan’s quarterback JJ McCarthy took Coach Harbaugh’s lead and entered the NFL Draft.
Davis Warren is under center for Big Blue this year. Warren has a true feel-good story. After being diagnosed with leukemia in high school, he has battled the disease, and his way into the starting lineup.
Warren had a modest game in week one on the road against Fresno State with the Wolverines coming out victorious by the score of 30-10. Michigan doesn’t need Warren to win the game for them, they will utilize a balanced attack of pass and run.
This team is replacing nine offensive and six defensive starters. This is a factor in my AI football prediction.
How I use Rithmm models for my Texas vs Michigan AI Prediction
Rithmm’s AI models are only a part of my handicap. I like to do my research and look at the matchups.
For this matchup of these two talented and well-balanced teams, I will use my model with the below factors ⬇️
This model weighs a team's ability to run and pass almost evenly with slightly more importance on rushing the ball. I put more importance on rushing the ball due to how important it is for teams in college football to control the clock and the line of scrimmage.
Using Rithmm Models to Solidify My Prediction for Texas vs Michigan Prediction
Let's talk about the current spread and totals. Texas is the road favorite currently sitting at -7.5 after opening up as low as 3-point favorites.
The total is sitting at 43.5 after opening up at as high as 49.5 points.
Laying 7.5 points seems too risky for me but I need to see more out of the maze and blue before backing them against a SEC team.
I’m leaning towards betting the over, 43.5 seems way too low.
