US Open 2024: Round 4 Best Bets & AI Caddie Picks
Table of Contents
With a tough, hot Saturday came more high scores at Pinehurst #2, host of the 2024 U.S. Open. The scoring average was just as high as Thursday's average at 3.19 strokes over par, but that didn't seem to affect Bryson DeChambeau.
Everyone's favorite professional YouTube content guy played extremely well on Saturday, once again ranking at the top of the field in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee which helped lead him to a three-under 67.
Can Bryson capture his second U.S. Open title on Sunday?

US Open Round 4 AI Caddie Pick
Chris Kirk to Bogey or Worse Hole 6 (+150)
It'snot at all uncommon to see Chris Kirk playing into the weekend at a major event. He may have missed three of his last four major cuts, but Kirk has finished in the top 25 in both of the last two Masters Tournaments and had a solid finish in the 2022 PGA Championship. He even finished T28 at this course for the 2014 U.S. Open.
That doesn't mean Kirk is a great hole-to-hole player always. He can have bad moments, and the Par 3 sixth hole at Pinehurst seems to be giving him demons on a daily basis.
In all three rounds, Kirk has bogeyed this hole, and it's clear that it is tough on him. Our Rithmm model gives him a 35% chance to bogey this hole for a fourth straight day, and he just might.
US Open Round 4 Best Bet
Matchup Play: Corey Conners > Collin Morikawa (+155)
Collin Morikawa is going to win another major again, you can book it. It just won't be this weekend.
The two-time major champion played terrific on Moving Day at Pinehurst #2, shooting a four-under 66 to get back to even par for the tournament and inside the top ten. He said after the round that it was possibly his best round this season, and the stats certainly back things up from a putting standpoint, where he led the field today at 4.98 strokes gained.
However, we have to look at Morikawa through a different lens when it comes to Sundays. In recent weeks, he has missed opportunities to win both the Memorial Tournament and the PGA Championship on Sundays with somewhat lackluster performances, and he ranks 126th on Tour this season in Round 4 Scoring with an average of 71.
Corey Conners on the other hand has been solid on Sundays! He ranks 47th with a 69.5 average, and he happens to be playing some really solid golf this weekend!
Despite losing 0.76 strokes on approach in Round 3 and only averaging +0.41 for the event, I expect Conners gets back to his normal dart-heavy routine. The off the tee game has been very good for him this week, and it will lead to great positions.
